AIRPORT INFORMATION
Guarulhos International Airport - GRU Airport
Cumbica Airport, located in the neighboring municipality of Guarulhos, is the largest in the country. It connects the metropolis to several Brazilian cities and to at least 26 countries with direct flights. It is possible to arrive at and depart from the airport using taxi services or ride-hailing apps. Specifically for taxis, there are booths with licensed drivers.
Congonhas Airport
One of the busiest airports in the country, it offers direct flights to several Brazilian states. It's the best option for those who want to be close to the city center, as it's only a 30-minute drive from downtown. It's located on Avenida Washington Luís, part of the so-called North-South Corridor, an extensive expressway connecting two extremes of the city. It's also close to Avenida dos Bandeirantes, which connects Marginal Pinheiros to the East Zone. For those who prefer, the São Judas Metro Station (Line 1 – Blue) is the closest, with several municipal bus lines available, notably the 609J-10 (a circular bus that passes through the station and stops at the airport). There are counters for licensed taxi services and car rentals; it also offers hotel transfers and driver availability via ride-hailing apps.
GROUND TRANSPORTATION
Uber: The most widely used app, offering the highest density of drivers and the easiest navigation for international visitors. You can request trips up to 30 days in advance, making it simple to and from São Paulo-Guarulhos (GRU) or Congonhas (CGH) airports.
99: The top Brazilian-born ridesharing app, offering highly competitive pricing. It includes standard rides, traditional black-and-yellow taxi options, and local digital payment integrations
