ITMIG Abstract Submission Opens April 6

 

The information below outlines key details for abstract submission to the International Thymic Malignancy Interest Group (ITMIG) Annual Meeting. Submitting your work offers a valuable opportunity to share your research, present new ideas, and connect with experts in the field.

 

Before beginning your proposal, please carefully review the frequently asked questions, important dates, and submission guidelines provided below.

 

NOTE: Research results or case reports presented during ITMIG2026 should not be published prior to the meeting. If publication occurs after you submit your abstract

to the conference, please CONTACT US immediately.

  • ITMIG Submission Guidelines
    • General abstract submission requirements:
    • - Language: English
    • - Title: No length limit. Please indicate the specific study/article type (e.g. a randomized controlled trial,
    • - Co-authors: No limit
    • - Main text (excluding title, authors and keywords): limit 350 words
    • - Main text construction:
    • ORIGINAL RESEARCH: Background, Methods, Results, Conclusion;
    • STUDY PROTOCOL: Background, Methods, Discussion, Trial Registration;
    • CASE REPORTS: Background, Case Description, Conclusion.
    • - Images and/or tables: 1 maximum, acceptable formats: JPG, PNG, TIFF, resolution for web images suggested (72 PPI), size limit: 1 MB.
    • - Keywords: 3 - 5 phrases separated with coma
    • - Predominant discipline of the abstract should be defined
    • - Number of abstracts submission: No limits
  • What types of abstracts can be submitted?
    • Original scientific research
    • Study protocol
    • Case reports (accepted as posters only)
    • NOTE: Clinical Trials in Progress can be categorized as either "Original Research" or "Study Protocol."
    • NOTE: Research results or case reports presented during ITMIG2025 should not have been published prior to the meeting. If publication occurs after you submit your abstract to the conference, please CONTACT US immediately.
    • Important: If your abstract is accepted for oral or poster presentation at the ITMIG Annual Meeting, the editorial office of MEDIASTINUM will contact you for confirmation of the abstract format. Only abstracts approved by the journal's editorial office will be accepted for final publication in the post-conference Abstract Book. Journal requirements for conference abstracts are available HERE.

    What is the plagiarism policy?
    • Plagiarism encompasses all of the following:
    • 1. Direct: intentionally submitting another person’s words or ideas verbatim as one’s own;
    • 2. Self-plagiarism: submitting work that has been previously published or presented;
    • 3. Mosaic plagiarism: stringing together portions of text from other sources;
    • 4. Lack of attribution: failing to appropriately identify and cite sources for language or ideas that are incorporated.

    • Screening: IASLC screens all abstracts using anti-plagiarism software. Abstracts identified as having high levels of plagiarized content will be evaluated by IASLC staff and appropriate actions taken. Penalties for plagiarism may include: Rejection of abstract, and/or author(s) banned from making presentations at IASLC conferences.
  • What languages can I use in my abstract?
    • Abstracts will be accepted in English only.
  • Is there a limit to the number of abstracts an author can present?
    • There is no limit to the number of poster abstracts that an author may present however authors are limited to presenting one (1) oral abstract.
  • When will abstracts be available for viewing?
    • Abstract titles and PDF copies will be released on the program October 29, 2026. Embargoed LBA will be released upon presentation at the conference.
  • How do I submit my accepted poster PDF?
    • Final poster PDFs should be emailed to meetings@iaslc.org and our team will upload to Lung Cancer 360.
  • Is onsite poster printing available?
    • No, poster printing services are not coordinated by ITMIG or the IASLC.
